Trick: Pop Shove-It

Skateboarding is not the easiest subject for film shooter. Back in the day I liked to take skate photos with my digital SLR and it was quite easy when using external flash or burst mode. Now when I’m shooting with my film camera it’s not so simple to take good photos of skateboarders or other fast moving subjects. What I have realized and learned from film photography is not to concentrate so much to the main subject (f.ex. skateboarder) than composition, background, lights and shadows. Skateboarder never constitutes the whole picture but has a significant role in it.

This photo was taken at the famous skate spot outside the MACBA – Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art – in february 2014.
